The Central Coast is an ideal getaway for weekends or just for a daytrip from Sydney or Newcastle. With fantastic beaches, lakes for boating and fishing, national parks for walking and plenty of restaurants and cafes it is ideal for the whole family.

Owner of Pieces to Treasure, Jenelle Kent, has been designing quilts, bags, stitcheries and other patchwork items for seven years. Her designs have been published in a number of magazines and her patterns are distributed worldwide. As a qualified primary school teacher she found she could combine her passion for patchwork and teaching skills and really enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of this craft with others. Many ‘patchwork addicts’ have been created from my classes – they start with one project and before it is completed they have at least another five on a ‘must make’ list!

Pieces to Treasure has now opened a workshop venue at ‘Cottage Hill Creek’ specifically for patchworkers and quilters to enjoy a weekend of sewing and chatter. You can book to learn a specific skill, or choose a quilt or bag to make or bring your own projects to work on for the weekend. It is an ideal venue for patchwork groups to have a weekend getaway. Delicious morning and afternoon teas and lunch are provided, included in the cost of the course. Three different levels of local accommodation are offered to suit a variety of budgets and styles.

If your group does not require a whole weekend of ‘sit, sew and chat’ you can book a two and a half hour morning or afternoon session of shopping. Morning or afternoon tea is provided and included in the cost and there are plenty of fabrics, patterns, kits, buttons, threads and notions to choose from.

The cottage is situated on an idyllic rural property just 1.5km from MacMasters Beach, with lovely vistas and a host of bird life.

If you live locally, weekday and evening classes are available and the cottage is open by appointment for shopping.
